The teams have arrived and went on fun sightseeing trip in Copenhagen today.

Dressed in colourful outfits, the 700 CCC participants are waiting to board the buses which will take them on a sightseeing trip in Copenhagen. Some are using the waiting time to test their robots; some get instructions from their coaches and some are simply enjoying the sunshine. The buses arrive and take them to the first stop on the trip; the Science Museum Eksperimentariet where they will spend three hours.

Fun at Eksperimentariet and canal tour

As the teams enter the museum, it is instantly filled with laughter. The teams have a lot of fun trying out the many exciting exhibitions. They kick off their shoes and walk through a dark sensing tunnel. They try out a “fakir” bed where they lie on a mattress of sharp pointed nails. They make gigantic soap bubbles using a hula-hoop ring. And they visit the energy exhibition where they generate energy by using a sofa bike – and much more! The second part of the sightseeing trip is a boat tour around the canal where they see the famed Little Mermaid. Many get their picture taken with her. The boat trip also takes them past the new Opera House, the Marble Church and through Christianshavn canal where it is popular to live in house boats.

Decorating pits and final preparations
After the sightseeing trip, they head for Bella Center. The pits are now decorated and it’s an impressive sight. The teams have really used their creativity.  Posters, stickers, penguins, polar bears, national flags and a man size windmill are just a few examples of pit decorations. The teams make the last preparations for tomorrow. Robot performance is tested. Does everything still work? Or do they need to make some last minute changes before the competition starts? Suddenly the sound of loud music fills Bella Center. Paul Sleem enters the stage and starts warming up the crowd: “Are you ready for tomorrow???” The answer is unanimous: “YEEEEEES!!”
