We started out as teams from different schools brought together by our love and passion for robotics. Even though we were in different teams during the local leg of FLL, the competition gave us the opportunity to get to know one another. The strong friendships and bonds we developed pushed us to come together as a team to represent Singapore in the OEC. Comprising of 9 individuals from 5 different schools in various parts of Singapore, and mentored by seniors who similarly hail from diverse backgrounds, our team is an eclectic blend of talents and personalities with each member contributing in his or her unique way, maximizing our individual talents and abilities by building upon those of others. Due to the team’s inherent diversity, we have faced many obstacles in the process, such as differing opinions and conflicting schedules. Despite all the barriers, we have remained undeterred in the pursuit of our common goal. It has been a truly memorable, challenging and exciting experience working hand in hand to overcome the numerous barriers which have stood in our way. Nonetheless, this has served to draw out our strengths. Although the period of preparation for the competition, and of the actual competition itself, only amounts to half a year, the memories we shared, the friendships we built, the things we learnt during this short period of time will undoubtedly be the treasured souvenirs of a lifetime.
